Because we believe that South Alberta Presbytery is called by God:
a. to be a court of the Church as part of the body of Christ,
the people of the resurrection, to do the will of Christ in our context;
b. to be human;
c. under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit,
to envision and facilitate the Kingdom/Commonwealth of God
(shalom, love, grace, justice, peace and wholeness for all creation);
d. to be outward looking: to witness to Christ and reach out,
therefore we respond to this call:
a. by being a channel of God's grace, emphasizing spiritual
nurture
and dealing with systemic and personal issues;
b. by developing fellowship, exchanging ideas,
and celebrating the faith of the whole people of God;
c. by encouraging local congregations and providing resources
through education, oversight, pastoral relations, and home missions;
d. by exercising discipline, oversight, and affirmation for
the pastoral charges and the churches' leadership;
e. by being a communication link with the wider church and with society.
f. by seeking out and nurturing candidates for vocations in the church.
